Who we are
This website is run by M IT SCALE UP SRL ("we", "us"), a company registered in Romania (CUI 51447870, Reg. Com. J2025018164003), at Șos. Virtuții 5, Bl. R2, Sc. 2, Et. 4, Ap. 44, Sector 6, București, Romania. We provide website design and hosting services for small businesses in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here, which means we decide how and why it's used. We handle it in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). You can reach us any time at office@mitscaleup.com or on WhatsApp at +44 7867 767989.
We don't have a formal Data Protection Officer, as we're a small business and aren't required to appoint one. [Owner to confirm: whether you are registered with the ICO / pay the data-protection fee, and add the registration number here if so.]
What we collect
- Things you send us. When you message us on WhatsApp, email us, or start an enquiry, we receive what you choose to share: your name, contact details, and information about your business and what you need.
- Basic usage data. If (and only if) you agree to analytics cookies, we collect anonymised information about how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. This helps us see whether people can find us and understand the offer.
We do not ask for special-category (sensitive) personal information, and we do not buy or sell contact lists.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law we have to have a lawful basis for each thing we do with your information. Here's ours:
- To reply to your enquiry and set up the service you've asked about. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and once you're a client, performing that contract.
- To keep records of our contact with you in case you come back to us. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running and following up on our business, balanced against your privacy.
- To run and improve this website using analytics. Lawful basis: your consent, which you give by accepting analytics cookies and can withdraw at any time.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website can store on your device. We keep them to a minimum:
- Necessary storage. We remember your cookie choice so we don't ask again on every visit. This is stored on your own device and isn't used to track you, so it doesn't need consent.
- Analytics (optional). Only if you click "Accept", we load Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help. Analytics stays switched off unless you opt in, using Google Consent Mode. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and the site works exactly the same.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link (also in the footer of every page). Declining or clearing your choice turns analytics off again straight away.
Who we share it with
We share information only where it's needed to run the service. These providers process data on our behalf (as our processors), under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Hosting and email providers — to store the site and handle email connected with it.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — when you choose to message us there, your message and number are handled under Meta's own terms and privacy policy.
- Google (Google Analytics) — only if you've consented to analytics.
We may also share information if the law requires it. We never sell your information. [Owner to confirm: the specific hosting and email providers named here, once finalised.]
Sending information outside the UK
Because we're based in Romania (within the EU) and use providers such as Google, your information may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens, it's protected by appropriate safeguards — for the EU/EEA, the UK's adequacy regulations, and for other transfers, the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more detail about the safeguards that apply.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for as long as we're in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us, then delete them. Where you become a client, we keep records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise them. Analytics data is retained only in aggregate. If you'd like us to delete your details, just ask.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it's wrong, or deleted;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask us to transfer certain information to you or another provider (data portability);
- withdraw your consent for analytics at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email office@mitscaleup.com. We'll respond within one month. There's normally no charge.
Automated decisions
We don't make decisions about you by automated means alone, and we don't use your information for profiling.
How to complain
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Questions? Email office@mitscaleup.com and a real person will reply.
